NFL Betting - Week 14 Picks

New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons
Sports Betting Odds: Saints -10

The New Orleans Saints needed a miracle, but they stayed perfect when they defeated the Washington Redskins last week. The Saints preyed upon several key mistakes from the Redskins late in the game to eke out an overtime win and now they currently sit at 12-0.

This week, Saints head coach Sean Payton came out and talked to the media saying that the team's goal was to go a perfect 16-0. It was interesting comment to hear from the Saints coach because at this point in the year, you might see some other teams with a similar record like the Saints really take their foot off the gas and maybe rest some of their starters. The Saints are two games clear of the Minnesota Vikings for the top seed in the NFC but they are aiming to perfect.

This week, the task won't be overly difficult as the battered Falcons have been struggling badly. The Falcons have now lost five of their last seven games and they will likely be without quarterback Matt Ryan or running back Michael Turner for this game.

More than the offense, the bigger issue for the Falcons this year has been the defense. Their secondary has holes all over the place and their defensive line isn't capable of generating enough pressure. While the Saints had a tough time pulling out a win last week, they won't have that issue this week.

NFL Betting Picks: Saints -10

New York Jets @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sportsbook Odds: Jets -3.5

The New York Jets will be without their starting quarterback Mark Sanchez this week but it may not matter. The Jets are facing one of the worst - if not the worst - team in the NFC and the Jets still have a running game. Behind Thomas Jones and Shonne Greene, the Jets have had a surprisingly good rushing attack this year. This week, they are facing off with the 31st rushing defense in the NFL.

Tampa Bay is also having their problems on offense. Rookie quarterback Josh Freeman continues to be inconsistent. Following one of his best efforts of the year against Atlanta, Freeman threw for five interceptions against the Carolina Panthers last week.

For the Jets, even though Kellen Clemens is starting, he's still a savvy veteran who will make smart throws and won't make mistakes.
