NFL Betting - Saints Won’t Call Of The Dogs On Tampa Bay

The New Orleans Saints were embarrassed on national television last week, but now that you take a retrospective look back to their last month of action, you won't be too surprised.

The Saints nearly lost in Washington and to be frank, sports handicapping bettors felt that that should have been a loss. The Redskins were a chip shot field goal away from sewing that game up but missed and allowed the Saints to roar back. Then the next week, the Saints nearly lost to the Chris Redman- and Jason Snelling-led Atlanta Falcons as starters Matt Ryan and Michael Turner were out.

The Saints were cutting it close and the Cowboys, a team that was playing better than people want to give them credit for, simply took advantage.

For a team like the Saints, internet betting handicappers know that a loss may be the best thing that happened to them. They were fading week by week and a loss means they will be refreshed and refocused for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a big win in Seattle last week - big for them, anyways - but it was just their second on the season. Winning a second straight road game in New Orleans will be close to impossible for this two-win squad.

Bookmaker Odds (Bookmaker Reviews): Saints -14

The Saints are a two touchdown favorite this week and it's fairly easy to see why. While they have failed to cover regularly over the last month as a weekly double-digit favorite, this is one spot where they should be able to do so.

The Saints offense is going to be too much to handle for the Buccaneers in every facet.

One thing that stood out like a sore thumb last week is just how important the running game is to New Orleans. They produced only 65 yards on the ground and it forced their offense to become one-dimensional. While they are capable of winning games solely with their passing game, they are virtually unstoppable when both the passing game and running game are working together.

This week, the Saints will be able to run the ball against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL. Tampa Bay's run defense is ranked 30th in the NFL, allowing 158.9 yards per game.

The Saints will get both their running game and passing game going and carve up this weak Bucs unit.
