The Daily Line: Louisiana Lafayette College Football Previews 2010

College football matchups begin September 2 and super bookie Bodog continues their previews.

Louisiana-Lafayette is next up in our 2010 college football preview. The Ragin' Cajuns finished 6-6 last season, including a 4-4 run in the Sun Belt.

The defense will probably be the team's strongest point. Linebacker Grant Fleming should be one of the best in the conference, while the secondary is packed with talent; corners Orkeys Auriene and Dwight Bentley each have all-conference ability. This unit could certainly afford to improve against the run, though.

On the other side of the ball, Chris Masson is solid under center. His top target will likely be tight end Ladarius Green. That duo probably won't get much help, however. The offensive line is in disarray with three new starters needed (plus one starter switching positions), not to mention a search for a new starting running back is also in effect. The receiving corps is pretty beige with no standouts waiting in the wings.

Grandmaster Sports Handicapper Joe Duffy's expert take: It's a matter of which directional hyphenated Louisiana team finishes fifth and which sixth. UL Lafayette will finish in the No. 6 spot behind UL Monroe.
