Preseason Football Picks: Buffalo Bulls Finish 5th

Today's penultimate college football betting preview covers the 2010 Buffalo squad. Buffalo finished 5-7 (3-5) in the MAC East last season and will be led by new head coach Jeff Quinn.

Quinn takes over a squad that will lean heavily on its offensive line, which returns four starters. The problem is, who will they block for? The skill positions are a question mark, including quarterback, where Jerry Davis and Alex Dennison will compete for the job. Running back will also come down to a battle, likely between seniors Ike Nduka (598 yards last season) or Brandon Thermilus (560 yards last season).

The defense, on the other hand, should be a little stronger from front to back. There are quality players speckled throughout the "D," including safety Davonte Shannon and Domonic Cook. They should hold down a good secondary. Linebacker Justin Winters is another name to keep an eye on.

Grandmaster Sports Handicapper Joe Duffy's expert take: Buffalo is going to finish fifth in the MAC East. A higher finish is slightly more likely than a lower one.
