UL Monroe 2010 College Football Picks, Prediction, Odds

OffshoreInsiders.com CEO Joe Duffy, Grandmaster Sports Handicapper almost went to Louisiana-Monroe, then known as Northeast Louisiana for graduate school.  Now to meaningful facts from Bodog

Louisiana-Monroe continues our 2010 college football preview, and the Warhawks will be under a lot of pressure this season; they debut a new head coach in Todd Berry.

The Warhawks have gone 6-6 in back-to-back seasons but elected to bring in Berry anyway. He takes over a squad that focused on the run, led by 1000-yard rusher Frank Goodin. The line has three new starters, though, so the ground game may take some time adjusting. There could be a quarterback controversy on the horizon. Redshirt freshman Kolton Browning has the job for now, but he'll be looking over his shoulder at former starter Trey Revell.

The defense has been cleaned out, as just four starters return in 2010. Louisiana-Monroe runs an odd 3-3-5 set that utilizes three safeties, and two of them will be starting for the first time this season.

Grandmaster Sports Handicapper Joe Duffy's expert take: Monroe will finish fifth in the conference but some of our projections have them as high as third and as low as eighth.
