I have been very high on the Braves of late and for good reason but I can't exactly trust Derek Lowe at this high price. The sinkerballer has had a lot of success at times this season but he also is a guy who can implode with the best of them. In other words Lowe is very very feast or famine and of late things have just been too smooth for it to continue this way.
I can't exactly deem Manny Parra as an overachieving great hurler by any means but the guy is a capable lefty who has solid enough stuff to hold his own. The Brewers have offensive ability helping Parra out with guys like Prince, Braun, Hart and Weeks and if that Lowe sinker is diving there is no reason why the visitors can't prevail today like in the last pair of games.
The Brew Crew have not had the season they would have liked and the poor record is evidence of just that but the upside is there with these guys and they can without a doubt win this game and take three of the four games in this series. Forget about the record and forget about the recent success of Lowe. Milwaukee is a team that can bash with the best of them and Lowe is a guy who can shrivel up with the best of them.
We may lose this game as Heyward, McCann, Prado, Chipper and the Bravos are superior and deserve to own the best record in the National League with the way they have performed at Turner Field but in the end this dog can not only bark but bite. So sure I'll back the Brewers.
The pick: Milwaukee +160 at BetUs
For more information: The second half has not started out well and I won't deny that in the slightest. It's a constant grind and there are going to be a few day stretches where nothing seems to go right. The trick is though to find the capper that will win consistently over time and I have more than proved that. Now the key is getting back to that form and with a new week here that is exactly what I am going to do.
I'm not going to get anxious and push anything but I do have two winners helping me get back to form. The play of the day comes by the Bay in a 300,000* Mets-Giants and a bonus winner from Minnesota with a 200,000* White Sox-Twins. Click now to purchase
