Free Basketball Picks

Several of the nation's best sports handicappers in basketball have free picks for tonight.  The first is from Matt Rivers. 

The DePaul Blue Demons have turned into a bad program of late. The days of Ray Meyer are long gone. Heck the days of Joey Meyer are long gone. This fact just cost coach Jerry Wainwright his job and tonight DePaul makes its first appearance with interim coach Tracy Webster.
 
I'm not saying that Webster is the answer or that the Blue Demons have enough talent to compete in the Big East, but the game after coaching changes normally wakes up a team, college or pro, and to get a few points at home against what has become a somewhat regressing Providence team is enough to give it a go.
 
I'm not trying to sugar coat things and paint the rosiest picture as the Demons have dropped four in a row including a game against Florida Gulf Coast but Koshwal and Walker are decent enough players and at home here I would not be surprised in the slightest to see that 22 game conference losing streak come to an end. DePaul is bad but they are not miserable or wretched by any means.
 
Keno Davis' Friars are the better team with Curry and Brooks leading the way. But so far Providence has not impressed me a lick. They are 10-6 but truly there hasn't really been a quality win as of yet and losing to Iona along with other mediocre at the very best teams in Alabama and Boston College leads me to believe that this could be the day for DePaul to break that dubious skid.

Georgetown (12-2, 5-5 ATS) is favored by seven points. The Hoyas beat UConn 72-69 on Saturday to erase the sting of a loss at Marquette. Still, the defensive-minded Hoyas are just 2-4 against the spread in their last six outings. Underdog Seton Hall is struggling right now. Saturday's win over Cincinnati was just its second victory in the past seven games, and the Pirates have covered only once in the past five. Georgetown has beat Seton Hall in four of its last five tries (4-1 ATS) with the Pirates winning last year. The total has gone under in all of those games.
