NBA Spreads and Handicappers PIcks

The NBA Western Conference is extremely competitive and, aside from the Lakers, playoff seeding remains wide open. Today's free picks include two huge West match ups on Wednesday night—the Spurs at Suns and Nuggets at Thunder.

San Antonio Spurs at Phoenix Suns – Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET

Phoenix (50-27, 44-31-2 ATS) lost 107-108 in Milwaukee on Saturday. The defeated snapped a 10-game winning streak for the Suns, which included a very successful 4-1 road swing. The Bucks loss ended a three-game winning streak on NBA odds, too. Still, Phoenix is a very solid 6-3-1 against the spread in its last 10 games. The Suns have been brilliant at home over the past few weeks, going 4-0-1 in their past five games at US Airways Center.

San Antonio (47-29, 41-34-1 ATS) is enjoying a 5-1 run in its last six games, including a three-game winning streak heading into Tuesday evening's road date with the Kings. The Spurs spanked the Lakers 100-81 on the road last weekend. San Antonio has covered its last three games against the spread while racking up an impressive 7-3 record in its past 10 games on NBA odds. The Spurs are also 7-3 in their past 10 road games at the sportsbook.

These teams have split their two meetings this season and both are playing well. The Spurs will be coming off a game in Sacramento, though, and their old legs won't be able to keep up with Phoenix.

Pick: Phoenix

Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder – Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET

Okalahoma City (48-28, 45-31 ATS) was rolling heading into Tuesday's evening match up with the Utah Jazz; the Thunder had won four straight games before that, including a 116-108 win over Minnesota last Sunday. Overall, the Thunder are 6-1 in their past seven outings. Oklahoma has been just as solid against the spread, going 5-2 in its last seven games on NBA odds. The Thunder are just 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 games at the Ford Center, however.

Denver (50-27, 32-39-6 ATS) has won back-to-back games, including a 98-90 victory over the Clippers on Saturday. The wins helped erase the sting of a recent 1-5 run. The Nuggets have been an absolute nightmare at the sportsbook, though; they're just 1-8-1 in their past 10 games on NBA betting lines. Taking to the road certainly won't help matters—Denver has failed to cover in six straight games road games (0-5-1 ATS).

It's tough to argue against Oklahoma's momentum right now, especially considering how poorly Denver is playing on the road.

Pick: Oklahoma City
