Wednesday NBA Spreads and Betting Picks

NBA picks and odds for Wednesday, April 14

Regular season NBA odds wrap up this evening with a ton of important games on the slate. The Chicago Bulls are fighting for their playoff lives—a win, and they're in—while the Suns and Jazz are fighting for crucial seeding in the West. Here are your free picks for tonight's huge games.

Chicago Bulls (-2.5) at Charlotte Bobcats – 8:00 p.m. ET

The Bulls (40-41, 41-38-2 ATS) have picked up their play for a late playoff push. They've won seven of their past 10 games, including a 101-93 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. That sense of urgency has created solid if unspectacular results at the sportsbook; Chicago has covered six of its last 10 games on NBA odds. Hitting the road should make bettors feel better, too—the Bulls are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games away from home.

Charlotte (44-37, 44-36-1 ATS) has the seventh seed locked up and little to play for. The Bobcats have been solid, though, and are enjoying a 9-3 run. They're coming off a 105-95 win in New Jersey. Despite the impressive run, Charlotte has been a letdown for sports betting fans. The Bobcats are an underwhelming 4-6 in their last 10 games against the spread. And while Charlotte is 6-4 ATS in its last 10 home games, the team has been unreliable at Time Warner Cable Arena—they've alternated ATS wins and losses for six straight home games. They lost their last one.

This is simple. Chicago has something to play for; Charlotte doesn't.

Pick: Chicago

Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz – 10:30 p.m. ET

The Suns (53-28, 47-32-2 ATS) are tearing through the NBA right now; they've won 13 of their past 15 games and are coming off a 123-101 romp against Denver on Tuesday night. They've delivered results on NBA betting lines, too, with a 7-3 run against the spread. Playing on the road is a lately shaky, however. The Suns are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games away from home, but they've dropped two straight.

Utah (53-28, 49-29-3 ATS) has been nearly as good over the same stretch, going 12-3. The Jazz have won back-to-back games after beating Golden State 103-94 last night. They haven't enjoyed the same kind of success at the sportsbook, though. Utah is a lacklustre 5-5 against the spread in its last 10 games on NBA odds. Playing at home should make a difference—Utah is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games at EnergySolutions Arena, though it has lost two of three.

Utah will have an idea of whether or not it can grab second place because of the Dallas game earlier this evening—the Jazz need a Mavs loss. Either way, they'll want at least third. Take the Jazz.

Pick: Utah
