NBA Spreads Spurs-Suns

If you think Masters 2010 odds are hot, they don't have anything on San Antonio and Phoenix, two rivals in the NBA's Western Conference that don't get along, and are playing extremely well right now. The two will meet against on Wednesday night in the desert, and this could be a shootout.

Spurs vs Suns odds – Wednesday, April 7, 10:30 PM ET

The Spurs will have the second of their three-game road trip in Sacramento on Tuesday, but they started it off with a bang in a 100-81 romp over the Lakers in Los Angeles on Sunday. Manu Ginobili continued his torrid play with 32 points to lead the way, while Tim Duncan chipped in with 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, who outrebounded the Lakers 41-34, and they earned nine more points at the foul line than the defending NBA champions. Sports betting players were shaky on the Spurs earlier in the season, but Ginobili is finally healthy and picking up the slack left by the injured Tony Parker, who should be back before the playoffs.

The Suns had a nine-game winning streak snapped in a 107-98 loss in Milwaukee on Saturday, in a game marred by the gruesome injury to the elbow of the Bucks' Andrew Bogut. Amare Stoudamire had 22 points to pace the Suns, and he has been a force over the last month, when it was decided that he was going to end the year in Phoenix. This was only the second time in 10 games that the Suns were held under 100 points, and their online sportsbook odds usually go down when that happens, but Phoenix has even improved on the defensive end of the floor.

The Suns should be favored in your sportsbook in this contest, although they have dropped seven of their last 10 against the Spurs, including six of their last 10 at home. These two have split a pair of meetings already this season, with the home team winning both times, and the matchup in the post has been a joy to watch. Duncan has averaged 27.5 points and 12.0 rebounds for the Spurs, while Stoudamire has countered with 34.5 points and 13.0 boards for the Suns, but the key to this matchup may be Ginobili, who has put up 30.3 points in his last five games. The Suns will have to watch Ginobili wherever he is on the floor, but do they even have anyone who can guard him one-on-one? Their problems with Ginobili, even though the Spurs will be on the second half of a back-to-back, will be the reason that Phoenix falls short yet again while facing the Spurs. Go with San Antonio in your NBA betting picks.
