Free Picks: NBA Winner Warriors vs. 76ers

It's never too early to think hot stove league as Matt Holliday, John Lackey Red Sox rumors abound. But let's focus on making money today and we don't mean from XTO Energy stocks.  Matt Rivers picks are hotter than Julie Postle and Ashley Dupree pics.

Rivers says take the Warriors plus the points at SportsBook. They are getting 5.5 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
 
I definitely cannot trust the Golden State Warriors on the road like this all that much but the way things have gone for the 76ers plus anything is worth a play right now.
 
Philadelphia has turned into the mush of all mush in dropping 12 in a row and 16 of their last 18. There is still talent on this team led by Andre Iguodala but nothing has gone right at all this season for Eddie Jordan's squad and now with Allen Iverson banged up and questionable to play along with guys like Louis Williams, Willie Green and Marresse Speights I just do not know if tonight is the night to break the skid.
 
It's amazing, when the 76ers score some points they find a way to give up more and when they clamp down defensively they find a way to miss the bulk of their shots. These guys are in a major funk and the confidence level is as low as any team in the league right now.
 
Golden State is 7-16, after losing six of their last seven, and are far from being healthy themselves but Monta Ellis has been a total baller this season and like I already said, any points right now against Philly is enough to make a play on the dog.
 
There is an analogy I like to make at times and it applies here. Backing the Warriors in this spot is like having a pathetic 16 in Black Jack. But when the dealer has a 6 you'll take your chances for sure.
