Handicapper Free Pick: Vikings vs. Cardinals

Sensational handicapper Matt Rivers has hit 9-of-13 premium plays and has a free pick  today. First of all, we previously asked sensational oddsmaker Leo Shafto what the Texas-Alabama odds would be. At the time he said Alabama -4 and 46 but that was before the Big 12 Championship game started.

Rivers has more winners than Tiger Woods has mistresses, the lately Cori Rist revelation notwithstanding.

The respected BetUs Sportsbook linesmaker has told us it will probably be closer to the Crimson Tide -6 as a result of the Longhorns lackluster effort. Now to Rivers free winner, it's to go with the Vikings minus the points at Arizona. Minnesota is -4 at SportsBook.

No matter how great Brett Favre and the Vikings continue to play it still seems to me as if they are a little underated. That statement may seem a little outlandish as Brad Childress' team is 10-1 and rolling but they really are a little cheap today.

I do expect Kurt Warner to play but I'm also not sure if he can be at full strength. The guy is getting old and his cobwebs may not be fully gone. In an offense like the Cardinals where they rely so much on the pass this certainly can be a bad thing. Plus Arizona has struggled mightily at home all season long and today are up against arguably the best team in the entire NFL, yeah I said it, arguably the best team in the NFL.

Adrian Peterson is the beast of all beasts running the rock and the Williams' brothers help Minnesota defend the run better than anybody.

Last season the Vikes went out to the desert with Tarvaris Jackson and in somewhat shocking fashion won easily from the first drive to the last drive. That game was a total burial for the visitors and even though it doesn't necessarily relate here I just am so impressed with Favre and the fellas and do think that they are too good to drop a game in this spot to a beat up Warner and pretty much decent at best Arizona team.

The Cards are 2-3 at home this season and easily could be 0-5 as they have yet to look like the defending NFC champs on their home field. I'm not so sure that anything changes here against a team in Minnesota that seems to be on a mission right now and the clear superior of these two.
