One of the great football handicappers of all time is Matt Rivers who was the winningest handicapper ever on a large network of handicapping sites before being promoted to The Show at OffshoreInsiders.com.
His free pick is on Cincinnati plus the points in the Sugar Bowl. Florida is laying 13 at SportsBook with a total of 48. Rivers says:
Nobody on the planet is going to be on the Cincinnati Bearcats today up against Tim Tebow, Urban Meyer and the big bad Gators but I will take my chances with a 12-0 team getting around two touchdowns. Why the heck not? 12-0 in the Big East is far from a fluke, far from it.
Of course this is a tough spot for Cinci as they really don’t have a head coach today after being abandoned by Brian Kelly as well as their so-called interim coach who is off to Buffalo. The odds are stacked against the Big East champs here against a great defense in these Gators and a team that is looking to send Tebow and Meyer off with a style points type of a victory.
Florida is great but let’s not forget how they were just fully thrashed in that last game by Alabama and was not exactly a great team against the number this season thanks to an offense that was not all that at all. Florida’s offense was not nearly what it was in the past few seasons and even though the ‘Cats defense is not great at all should not go crazy here at all as they just do not have true wide receivers and a legitimate passing game.
Cincinnati went a perfect 12-0 this season and have a stud in Tony Pike at quarterback. Throw in a potential change up here and there with Zach Collaros who is no joke himself and a few dangerous wide receivers led by a superstar in Mardy Gilyard and I fully believe that Cincinnati will put some points on the board and stay within this gargantuan in post.
I do believe that the Gators will win this game as they are too well rounded of a team but with the world on UF the value is with the undefeated underdog in this one.
