What a handicapper Matt Rivers is. Beyond on fire, tonight he has a free pick on Maryland plus the points at Wake Forest. They are getting 4.5 according to Bet Guardian
No I don’t trust Gary Williams’ Terrapins at all but I also do not really know what Wake Forest is this season. The Demon Deacons have not really outclassed anybody and are light years inferior from the teams that had Chris Paul, Tim Duncan, Randolph Childress and other studs. Maryland is 10-4 and Wake is 11-3 but those are weak good records if you know what I mean as neither team has proven to be close to elite so far this season.
The Turtle have been up and down but did last game put together a nice little win at home against Leonard Hamilton’s solid Florida State Seminoles. Greivis Vasquez has the makings of an NBA player and there is a supporting cast with guys like Milbourne, Hayes and Mosley. If you actually throw out the loss to a better than expected William & Mary team than you have all of the losses against high quality competition in Villanova, Wisconsin and Cincinnati.
Wake Forest is very similar to the Terps with that 11-3 record and a loss to Bill and Mary as well. They come back home here after the one point defeat in Miami. The Deacs had won seven in a row before that loss but the wins were not all that impressive at all as they failed to cover in a lot of them.
The bottom line today is that neither team is anything above pretty good and either team can win this game. If the good Maryland shows up than this is a steal, plain and simple. If not then we can still stay in this number.
