Heisman Trophy Odds

Tim Tebow is the overwhelming favorite to win the Heisman Trophy at 1/10 according to NewBodog. The nation's top football handicapper Mike Godsey of GodsTips, anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com agrees that the Florida quarterback should be the favorite, but "no way would I bet $1,000 just to win $100 on him."

Tebow would become the first freshman or sophomore to win the award. Tebow just won the Maxwell Award, considered the precursor to the Heisman.

Arkansas running back Darren McFadden is 9/2 and Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan is 10/1. Chase Daniel, the Missouri quarterback is the long shot of the four finalists at 25/1.

Even ESPN's poll says the race should be closer than the oddsmakers think. Tim Tebow did compile 12 of 15 first place votes for 68 points, but McFadden is within striking distance at 56.

OffshoreInsiders.com CEO, Joe Duffy, says the easiest bet of the weekend is the California (Pa.) Vulcans laying one point to Valdosta in the Division II national semi-finals in football.

Duffy may be biased as he is a graduate of California University of PA and former play-by-play man on WVCS radio (now WCAL) and Channel 29 cable channel (now CUTV).

His Vulcans are 13-0 and playing at home. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
